Dear Pupils, Parents and Carers,
I want to explain the reasons for placing Mr Ford in year 6 for the Autumn term.
– Mr Ford is an outstanding teacher and has a proven track record of preparing year 6 pupils for SATs and high school transition. Mr Ford’s priority will be his year 6 teaching role and he will have two afternoons out for PPA and KS2 management time. The new leadership structure will work well in supporting the leadership and management of the school.
– We need the very best teacher in year 6 and when we recruit, it is absolutely vital that we observe the candidates teach and see their interaction with the pupils and other staff. This has not been possible since March 2020 due to Covid 19 restrictions and school closures.
– We will advertise over the summer break and recruit in the first half term. This allows employed teachers to apply as they would need to hand in their notice by 31st October. The right candidate may be able to start before January but we need the very best teacher.
