As you know, issues around traffic and the safety of our children has been a concern for a long time. We all need to get to school safely and driving and parking near school is difficult. We have been working closely with the Police and Derbyshire Council.
Anne (PCSO) has had a physical presence on Pikes Lane and will visit regularly.
We are applying to DCC for the following.
- Solid white line from Chadwick Street to Tredcroft Street. 8am – 9am and 3pm – 4pm.
- 20 mile an hour limit from Tredcroft Street to Sunlaw Street. –
- Speed bumps from Tredcroft Street to Sunlaw Street.
Anne will work with groups of children at the end of Chadwick Street at the start and end of the day.
All classes will create one cardboard cut-out child. These will be mounted on wood and put on traffic cones and used with Anne and the children to raise awareness at the start and end of the day.
Anne will also be coming into school to talk about road safety with KS2 children.
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
